CARLOS

My sisters were in traffic and so were we. I was so amped out to be out on the prowl with my brother I didn’t even notice the car following me. I was too busy smoking and bobbing my head. It wasn’t until Butta glanced up from rolling another blunt before he noticed.

“Aye Los look behind us. I noticed those fools a few minutes ago and they keep following us,” he informed me.

“Is that so?” I replied.

“What you want to do?” he asked.

“We about to pull over and see what these niggas want.”

I waited till I got to a liquor store. I wanted to get some shit from the store and see who these niggas where. It was like killing two birds with one stone. I was winning no matter how it turned out.

As I pulled in the parking lot the Black Escalade turned as well. Lately I had been carrying a gun, but that always was my last resort. I came from a blade and knife toting family, so that was my weapons of choice. We didn’t get out the car immediately we sat there smoking and seeing if these fools were going to get out of there truck.

“You ready little brother?”

“You know it,” he sang.

We stepped out of the truck like we were worth a million bucks with no care in the world. No one in the Escalade got out, so we proceeded to the store, but never letting the truck out of our sight.

I went straight to the counter to look at liquor and blunts but my brother always needed a sugar fix. He took his ass directly to the candy display. He grabbed a handful of Laffy Taffy’s before getting some Skittles. All I could do is laugh because this nigga was addicted to some candy; I swear diabetes was calling his name.

We were in the store for about five minutes just bullshitting around with the Korean clerk. He knew us from around the way and I helped him clean-up some niggas that caused him trouble back in the day.

“We got company,” Butta said as he shifted his eyes to the door.

I didn’t recognize neither one of the two niggas that got out the truck, but I was aware that there was two more inside of the truck. I saw Butta using his tongue to play with his blade and I made sure my blade was in place.

The two men entered the store and walked to the drink display. I continued to shoot the breeze with the Korean clerk we called Papason. He shifted his eyes so we knew the men were headed our way.

“What’s up blood?” one of the men stated.

“Sup cuzz,” Butta fired back.

We didn’t bang like that but if we had to choose a side we were Crippin’ all the way. I stood up straight since I was leaning on the counter; I couldn’t let dude sucker punch one of us and I get knocked the fuck out.

“Ain’t no crabs around here,” the guy said.
